atlanta nywc - next to last day - part 2

wow. listened to doug fields. he talked about envy. he reminds me of jack nicholson. envy is invisible like green poisonous gas. sometimes when people we hang out with have different stuff from us that we want, that is when it takes us over.

who in your life is your emotional rival? everybody is or has at some point in their life been stricken by envy. in fact, there are very legitimate reasons for envy, but how does one keep it from eating away at our very existence?

It distracts us from the real issue; the person who's reflection is in the mirror.....

as a point of fact, in the end, envy will never and can never win. why you ask? envy is evil and God hates evil. you can figure out the rest.

one should never hide envy or even try to disguise it. just face it and destroy it like the bad daubee it is. ok, what movie is that from?

by the way, we are in the midst of moving the place we gather as a church. the physical move is done at this point. anyway.....

many people believe that at the heart of envy is the lie that God owes us. God has already given us far more than we deserve. we lose out when we think we deserve anything is this life but death.

so here is the golden egg. here is how you destroy envy before it starts to grow on you like a black mold. celebrate others, especially your rivals until envy crumbles at your feet.

Bottom line.....be content.
