the 12

have you ever been in a room with 11 other people, started out not knowing a single one, becoming acquainted, then started to argue, and then after 6 hours, come to some agreement on a single fact, and then parted your own ways, maybe to never see them again, but then thinking to yourself, that was fun and wanting to continue in community with them?

this is the exact position i found myself in for the last week and a half. jury duty.

i serve in my church as life connections leader. i search out and try to plan different ways people can connect. whether that be a public, social, personal, or intimate connection is of no matter. being in this jury was what i consider a social connection. we had the chance to talk about lives, kids, work, school, pain, joy, marriages, husbands, etc. after all the mission and 2 greatest commandments are to love God and love others. you accomplish the latter by talking to people in order to gain some insight on what they consider to be important in their own life. i saw this as a prime opportunity.

remember, there is always opportunity to love others in whatever you may be doing. ie. (no more buses!)
