double think

it never ceases to amaze me how God speaks through other people to get a point across. here's the deal. a few weeks ago i was searching for a wii for my kids for Christmas. i could not believe the price that people were getting on ebay. i cursed them for it. then i said to myself, i could make quite a take if i were to buy a few extra, when i could get my hands on them, and then see them for double.

however, i was meeting with the pastor of our church and he informed me that the idea i had might defunct a gift for someone else. so i pondered that and prayed on it. seems that God really did not say much.

was talking to a buddy today and he says that sometimes the actions we take are the opportunities we have to prove the moral character behind the words. hmmmmmm...........

ok, i give up God, you're right. i get it now. i will forever stamp here that i will only buy a wii for personal use or for someone else who i know and would pay only regular price.

by the way, does the title of this post ring a bell for anybody? double think is from the book 1984 written by george orwell. it is a term used to describe someone's thoughts. the concept is that whatever someone is thinking at any given moment about the past, present, or future, is the truth.

so you wonder why i called this post double think? it really has nothing to do with the content. it is just to get you to think twice like i did. also, i thought that this topic was a noteworthy to be the second post for today.

i think that i do this all the time. those times when we think god isnt speaking he really is but we have become selective about it. he spoke through your pastor because later you realized it even if at the time you didnt realize your pastor was being used in this way.
